Why Not?

One Afternoon

If you all know me well, you know I do not like to sit still. I like to be going, going and going. I can't sit through a movie and not do something. I am always thinking what are we going to do next. I call it a fault, a big fault. I believe that is why I was given a kidney and auto immune disease. Because it forces me to slow down. Sounds funny, I know but it is true. 

Saturday afternoon, we were playing in the backyard. I wanted to get out and Miah had been stuck to the computer the last few days. I wanted to go swim but Bells was just having so much fun and wanted to play legos. I agreed and told her we would go play with them in the back yard. 

Miah came out shortly with the golf clubs (jealous Dad?). 

I was laying there on the grass as Bells was in her own little world with the legos, occasionally breaking off to play gold with her Daddy. At first I was eager to get to the pool but they I thought to myself...

Live in the moment and relax. I soaked up the sun, the sweet little girl playing and my husband totally relaxed. I fell in love all over again with my life. 

Do you ever do that?

Do you have to tell yourself to STOP and enjoy the moment? 

Is it too late to start a new years resolution? I hope not but then again who cares. 

Especially with the new journey coming and this being my only chance at motherhood...

I will live more in the each moment. Because I love my family longer than my DNA will lay out. 

My husband loves golf and thanks to Dad he can play just in the back yard.

The Doc is In

By doc, I don't mean Miah. 

Bells is now a doctor and calls herself Doctor Taylor. She loves playing doctor. She can fix anything from a frown to a splinter. I think by next week she could be doing heart surgery. Her favorite patient is Great Grandma. She simply loves hanging out and playing with Grandma. The other day we were playing pirates and I was stabbed by Miah and she ran and got her doctor kit. Listened for my heart and where the wound was, she heard my stomach growl and told me my diagnosis...

It's okay, I fixed you up. Mommy you are just hungry and brought me some crackers and a bandaid for my scar. What a brave and smart little doctor.

They of course had to fix Bolt up and what a great just they did. Even superhero or in this case super dogs need fixing up too!

We leave today to move to our new home. I have LOVED spending time here with my grandma. I have learned so much. A lot about my parents when they were young...they never thought Grandma would give me so much information and I didn't even have to bribe here. She just gives it out freely. I love that Bells is able to spend time with her Great Grandma. I can't wait till my mom gets here and we can have all 4 generations. What a girls trip that will be, I see lots of those in our future. 

We were able to spend a lot of time getting to know Grandma's friends. They are so welcoming and have helped us so much with our move. I am so glad she is surrounded by such wonderful people. Being here has really opened my eyes. I was able to see why I was raised the way I was. I have always told people my parents are amazing and they did such a great job raising all of us. I look up to my parents in so many ways. I loved getting to see where all those came from, my Grandma. Everything was unfolded and I was able to take a sneak peek to the past. Bells was able to see more pictures of Great Grandpa and knows he is now with Jesus. She talks about him quite a bit. Grandma gave Miah some of his ties and belts and Bells told him to be careful, they are really special because Big Papa is with Jesus now. It just blows my mind how smart they are. 

Did I mention how much Grandma loves Miah? She adores him like no other. When we are introduced, it goes like this....

This is my grandson Jeremiah, his wife Shelle and their daughter Ellah. Yep, I'm her blood gosh darn it! But she really thinks something special of that guy. It doesn't bother me at all because I love how much my family secretly wants him more than me...hahaha! 

I will be sad to drive the hour away but I know we will see Grandma soon. It is nice to live close, December can't come any sooner.

Sunset Love
